A Centre for Psychological Care & Mental Health Promotion among Youth of LGBRIMH


1. Ms. Pramita Sengupta and Ms. Eepsita Sarma, along with posted M. Phil Trainee Ms. Aastha Khandelwal engaged with 4 students from Dept. of Mass Communication and Journalism, Tezpur University and guided them for a documentary on ‘Wellness’ on 5th March, 2022.

2. Dr. Diptarup Chowdhury, Ms. Tama Dey and Ms. Sucheta Roy conducted an online meeting with C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) regarding MANAS Mitra app development on 10th March, 2022.

3. Ms. Sucheta Roy, Ms. Bandana Deuri and Ms. Aastha Khandelwal arranged a half-day program to engage interns from Assam Down Town University (ADTU), Guwahati as a part of their internship program in Dept. of Clinical Psychology, on 19th March, 2022.

4. Dr. Diptarup Chowdhury facilitated an orientation session with Dr. Mohan Issac, visiting faculty on 21st March, 2022.

5. Dr. Diptarup Chowdhury, along with posted scholar and trainees conducted meeting with YWH collaborators Rita Banerji (Director of Green Hub) on 10th March, 2022 and an online meeting with Dr. Nandini Velho (Faculty in Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bengaluru and Research Consultant in Environmental Biology& Creative Conservation Education) on 23rd March, 2022, for guidance regarding content development of MANAS Mitra app.

6. Dept of Clinical Psychology & YWH, coordinated by Dr. Diptarup Chowdhury and Dr. P. Abhishek, along with Ms. Pramita Sengupta, Ms. Sucheta Roy, Ms. Eepsita Sarma,PhD scholars, organized a one-day awareness program ‘Wellness in Classroom’ for students and faculty of B.Ed course, College of Teacher’s Education, Tezpur, on 26th March, 2022.

7. Organized an event ‘Dialoguing with Ourselves’ for students in the campus and in Tezpur in collaboration with Spread Love And Peace, a collective working in the field of mental health awareness, on 26th March, 2022.

8. From the month of March (with prior approval of HUB coordinator, Dr. Diptarup Chowdhury), the space is open for M. Phil trainees of Dept. of Clinical Psychology for having:

a. Psychotherapy follow up sessions with youth (till now 23 sessions conducted)

b. Informal evening study-circle and small group discussions (6 sessions happened)
